GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Following an overwhelmingly positive response to its inaugural drive last autumn, Midwest retailer Meijer has announced the return of its baby gear recycling event. From May 4 through May 17, customers may bring unneeded, expired, or damaged baby items—including car seats and strollers—to any of Meijer’s 241 supercenters across Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin and receive a redeemable mPerks code for 25 percent off baby gear.
During the retailer’s first recycling event last fall, Meijer collected over 13 tons of baby equipment—more than 26,000 pounds of material—that might otherwise have ended up in landfills. “We know spring is a time when many families are looking to declutter and refresh their homes. That’s why we’re excited to bring back our baby gear recycling event—giving customers a convenient, responsible way to recycle unneeded or damaged baby items,” said Marlys Roberts, Director of Merchandise at Meijer. “By participating, they not only make space during spring cleaning but also help reduce landfill waste and earn rewards through mPerks. It’s one more way we’re creating value for families and sustainable solutions in our communities.”
To participate, shoppers should deliver eligible items to the designated drop-off area near the customer service desk at the front of their local Meijer supercenter. Upon drop-off, participants will receive an mPerks offer code good for 25 percent off select baby gear, including car seats, booster seats, strollers, travel systems, bassinets, and play yards. The coupon may be applied twice in the mPerks account between May 4 and May 31…
