State police cruiser strikes pedestrian near downtown Grand Rapids courthouse

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — A state police patrol car struck a pedestrian outside the Kent County courthouse as the high-profile Christopher Schurr murder trial continued inside.

The crash happened about 9:50 a.m. at the corner of Ottawa Avenue NW and Lyon Street.

State police said the pedestrian was taken to a hospital for what appeared to be minor injuries…
