Start Garden will be anchor tenant at redeveloped former UICA building

Grand Rapids-based startup incubator Start Garden Inc. will serve as the anchor tenant of the former Urban Institute for Contemporary Art gallery that a Detroit firm has purchased and is redeveloping into a coworking space.

Midwest House, which hosts experiential events and started as a platform for groups from Michigan and the Midwest region at South by Southwest Festival, will also have office space in the building recently acquired by Detroit-based coworking firm Bamboo.

“We’re very excited,” said Bamboo Co-founder and CEO Amanda Lewan. “This is our first West Michigan location and largest location. We’re thrilled to be part of the community and are especially excited to partner with Start Garden, which has been an anchor in the entrepreneur community for years.”…
