Teen seriously injured in crash

OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — A 15-year-old Jenison teen was hospitalized Saturday with serious injuries after she was pinned inside her vehicle following a crash.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened around 5:45 p.m. in the intersection of 104th Avenue and Van Buren Street in Robinson Township. Investigation shows that a Kia Niro, driven by the young woman was driving southbound on 104th Street when it turned onto Van Buren Street and completed a U-turn. Deputies say the Kia then disregarded a stop sign continued into the intersection while a northbound Chevrolet Silverado attempted to avoid the Kia but crashed into it, causing both vehicles to crash and come to rest in a field.

The teen driver was pinned inside her vehicle and needed to be extricated. She was taken to a hospital with serious injuries…
