Ottawa County OKs up to $5.7M tax break for Hudsonville townhomes

A residential developer’s plan for 84 one-bedroom townhomes in Hudsonville will move ahead following county approval for a tax incentives plan that would defray up to $5.7 million in eligible development expenses.

The Ottawa County Board of Commissioners on April 22 approved a brownfield tax increment financing plan for Hudsonville-based LaCati Group’s $12.7 million proposal to build The Landings at Rush Creek at 6365 Balsam Drive in Hudsonville.

The project would add 16 buildings of two-story townhomes totaling 84 units on 6.9 acres on the city’s north side. The one-bedroom townhome community would be situated due east of the Port Sheldon Sports Complex and west of Signatures Coffee & Espresso Bar.
