Michigan social worker accused of inappropriately talking to minors arrested in Lexington

Lexington police officers arrested a wanted social worker from Michigan with the help of camera technology, according to the police department.

The wanted man, 26-year-old Dequindre Wiggins of Grand Rapids, Michigan, was found at the Tru by Hilton University Medical Center on Waller Avenue, according to police. He was wanted on charges of accosting a minor for immoral purposes and using a computer to commit a crime out of Kent County in Michigan.

Wiggins is a social worker and worked at Valleywood Middle School, according to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office. On May 9 a parent reported inappropriate contact between Wiggins and her child, and investigators determined Wiggins had additional contact with other juveniles over online platforms…
