Staffer, other driver injured after crash causes school bus to roll

GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A school staff member and another driver where hospitalized after a crash that caused a school bus to tip over on the East Beltline in metro Grand Rapids Wednesday morning.

It happened just after 8 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the Beltline at Bradford Street, just north of I-96.

A News 8 crew at the scene saw the Thornapple Kellogg Schools bus on its side with the rear emergency exit door open. Nearby, a group of four or five people sat on the grass in the median. A tow truck was hauling away a black sedan.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Office says its initial investigation found the bus was turning north onto the Beltline from westbound Bradford when a northbound sedan hit the left rear of the bus, causing it to roll…
