‘Good to be back’: Billy Strings homecoming brings in fans, vendors from far and wide

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — It’s been quite the homecoming week for Billy Strings.

After wrapping up a couple weeks on the road with Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan, the Ionia County native had a few scheduled days off prior to kicking off his summer tour with two nights at Grand Rapids’ Van Andel Arena.

The 32-year-old began those days off by announcing Monday that he would return this June to the Charlotte Bluegrass Festival in Eaton County — the first festival he ever attended. Single-day tickets for his performance date have since sold out but other days and weekend passes remain available…
