A local affordable housing provider hopes to build a pair of homes along a desirable corridor on Grand Rapids’ east side that’s grown increasingly out of reach for lower-income and first-time buyers.
Using a city grant and property that the late philanthropist Peter Wege donated 20 years ago, Dwelling Place of Grand Rapids seeks rezoning and special land use approval in support of a two-unit for-sale community land trust housing project it plans at 411 and 417 Fuller Ave. SE in the city’s Baxter neighborhood. The nonprofit will go before the Grand Rapids Planning Commission on June 12.
