A real estate newcomer in the midst of acquiring a Grand Rapids land bank parcel for a 26-unit housing project has received a grant from the city to help get his project off the ground.
The Grand Rapids Brownfield Redevelopment Authority on May 28 unanimously approved a $200,000 grant for Bryce Hansen, of Stransen Development Group, to defray predevelopment costs in support of his planned housing project at 443 Sheldon Ave. SE, at the northeast corner of Division Avenue and Logan Street SE.
Hansen, who works a day job in sales with Walker-based industrial equipment supplier Motion Industries, plans a three-story apartment building with ground floor parking and up to 26 units of mixed-income housing with all-electric utilities on the site.
