GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — What started as a call for help from someone experiencing an overdose ended with a 26-year-old man dead from a gunshot wound this weekend.
On Saturday evening at the Pleasant Motel on 28th Street, someone called 911 to report an overdose victim.
But when Grand Rapids Police showed up at the motel, they found 26-year-old Damarius Cochran dead. It looked like he had been shot, and despite first responder efforts to save him, he died shortly after he made it to a local hospital…
