GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — More than 1600 protests and rallies are planned throughout the country and world on Saturday as a part of the “No Kings” movement.
The protests are “a nationwide day of defiance. From city blocks to small towns, from courthouse steps to community parks, we’re taking action to reject authoritarianism — and show the world what democracy really looks like,” the website said.

Organizers with Indivisible Greater Grand Rapids say they’re expecting at least 1200 to stand together at Ah-Nab-Awen Park Saturday morning for a peaceful rally against what they’re calling the abuses of power, cruelty and corruption of this presidential administration.
The rally is hosted by Indivisible Greater Grand Rapids — a local chapter of the national Indivisible organization that looks to educate and activate people on how they can have a voice.
