ALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — An 18-year-old is expected to face charges after a man was found dead near an apartment complex north of Grand Rapids, deputies say.
A resident came upon the body in the woods behind York Creek Apartments on Yorkland Drive NW near 4 Mile Road in Alpine Township Sunday evening. The 28-year-old had died of gunshot wounds, an autopsy confirmed. His name has not been released.

In a Monday release, the Kent County Sheriff’s Office said an 18-year-old from Grand Rapids has been taken custody and is expected to be arraigned soon — though deputies did not list precisely what charges the suspect was expected to face.
