After four-year hiatus, Taqueria San Jose returns to Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A popular spot to grab tacos and burritos in Grand Rapids has returned after a hiatus.

Juan Barajas first opened Taqueria San Jose — named after his hometown in Mexico — in 2010. He started out cooking up tacos at soccer games, before officially opening the restaurant on July Fourth.

After more than a decade of success, which he said was driven by people liking his flavor and the customer service his family provided, he made the decision to close his restaurant in 2021…
