GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The owners of the Breton Village shopping center have sold the property to a mixed-use developer based out of Massachusetts.
Scott Wierda and Brian DeVries purchased the property from the Visser family in 2002, according to a release. It went through a “de-malling” redevelopment between 2017 and 2019. Investors Dan DeVos and Dan Bowen were added as partners.
“When we reimagined Breton Village, our goal was to create something truly unique for West Michigan — an open-air shopping destination that combines modern design with an exceptional tenant mix of best-in-class local and national fashion, specialty retail, fitness and dining,” Wierda said in a release. “We were intentional in attracting first-to-market specialty brands, best-in-class local retailers, and experiences you can’t find anywhere else in the region. That vision helped shape Breton Village into a place that reflects the energy and style of the greater Grand Rapids community.”…
