Protest held outside Gerald R. Ford International Airport to urge airport to cut ties with Avelo Airlines

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A group gathered outside the Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) on Saturday to protest its new contract with Avelo Airlines.

The airline is the airport’s latest partnership, which will bring nonstop flights from Grand Rapids to North Carolina and Florida.

People are asking for GRR to terminate the contract after Avelo Airlines was found to be assisting in deportations…
