GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Settlement conversations have begun as homeowners on Grand Rapids’ Southeast side ask the city to pay over a million dollars in damages after a water main broke and flooded their homes.
That water main broke in June 2024 near Adams Street SE and Philadelphia Avenue SE. Since then, the city of Grand Rapids has said it is not liable for the damages caused by the flood and would not reimburse residents.
Larry Gibbs spoke to News 8 Wednesday about how the past year has gone.
