Fireworks show in downtown Grand Rapids Saturday night

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The skies over Grand Rapids will be full of color and wonder Saturday evening as Grand Rapids celebrates Independence Day with a fireworks show.

The fireworks show begins at 10:30 p.m. News 8 will air the fireworks on WXSP and stream them live in the player above.

The event at Ah-Nab-Awen Park begins at 6 p.m. with a welcome ceremony and the national anthem by Drew Warren — Drew Play Sax Production. House music will begin shortly after with a live performance by The Greenbridge Band at 8 p.m.

Anyone wishing to attend the event is asked to leave pets at home if they are in the Ah-Nab-Awen Park, Pearl Street Bridge, Bridge Street Bridge, Blue Bridge or 6th Street Bridge viewing areas. The city also asks attendees not to bring alcohol, glass, large coolers and bags, as well as additional fireworks. No smoking is allowed.
