Travelers at Grand Rapids’ airport cheer end to TSA shoe removal policy at airports

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — It’s become standard practice at many airports to take your shoes off while going through TSA security.

That changed this week, however, when Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced the department was ending the shoe removal policy after nearly two decades.
