Grand Rapids shop hosts free space for card games, video games

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A downtown Grand Rapids retailer is opening its doors to trading card game players, model kit hobbyists, gamers and anyone interested in a free, community space to have fun.

Devil May Duel, a trading card game store on Division Avenue, opened in November 2024 and has since become a hub for those interested in meeting and connecting with others through tabletop games.

“We’re mainly a trading card game store,” Cody Hier, owner of Devil May Duel, said. “But, we have open play all the time.”

The storefront has several card tables and chairs set up, open for anyone stopping by to have a card game of Pokémon or Magic: The Gathering, as well as space for any boardgames or hobbies customers would like to bring along with them…
