EAST GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — East Grand Rapids city leaders will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday to mark the grand opening of the newly redeveloped Manhattan Park.
The event begins at 4 p.m. at 430 Manhattan Road. City leaders will speak, followed by light refreshments and public access to the upgraded facilities.
Renovations wrap up on Manhattan Park in East Grand Rapids
The yearlong project added a splash pad, a modern pavilion, new pickleball courts and a redesigned, accessible playground. Renovations also include updated tennis and sand volleyball courts, improved pedestrian paths, new landscaping and a restroom and changing area near the splash pad.
City leaders say the upgrades align with their 2020 Community Parks and Recreation Master Plan. The design was shaped by resident feedback collected through surveys, open houses and public hearings.
