BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — After a 26-year hiatus, the West Michigan Italian Festival is relaunching at Tanger Outlets in Byron Township for a weekend of live music, food and bocce ball.
Stephanie Scott, chair of the West Michigan Italian Festival, remembers fondly the old days of Festa Italiana at Calder Plaza in downtown Grand Rapids. Now, with this new iteration, Scott hopes that generations young and old can come together and celebrate West Michigan Italian culture.
Festival of the Arts ending after 55 years
“We are so honored here to have so many cultural events,” Scott said. “But, the one missing link has always been this Italian festival that everyone wanted to bring back.”
Being held July 25 and 26, the inaugural West Michigan Italian Festival welcomes guests and families to a weekend of live entertainment, games, authentic Italian food and drink, local vendors and much more…
