Protesters promote ‘Good Trouble’ in Grand Rapids, other W MI cities

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — People protested in cities across the country, including Grand Rapids, Thursday as part of the “Good Trouble Lives On” movement.

The movement is inspired by John Lewis, a civil rights leader who served as a Georgia representative for over 30 years until his death in 2020. It aims to “challenge injustice and create meaningful change,” according to the Good Trouble website.

“The civil rights leaders of the past have shown us the power of collective action,” the movement’s website says. “That’s why on July 17, five years since the passing of Congressman John Lewis, communities across the country will take to the streets, courthouses, and community spaces to carry forward his fight for justice, voting rights, and dignity for all.”…
