PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Victims of a phony investment scheme hope to recoup some of their losses through the sale of the convicted swindler’s former home.
According to court documents, federal prosecutors can prove that Matthew Mencarelli spent $360,000 of the money he stole on construction of his custom-built home.
The house is perched atop a long driveway that runs off Post Drive Northeast in Plainfield Township.
