West Side bar, music venue closes after four years

Turnstiles, a music venue and restaurant located on Grand Rapids’ West Side, will be closing its doors after four years; its final day of operation will be Saturday.

After years of renting the property from Rockford, previously named Rockford Construction, Turnstiles owner Rob Schellenberg was ready to put in a bid to purchase the property at 526 Stocking Ave. However, he was outbid.

“We had a great partnership with Rockford Construction,” Schellenberg said. “They helped us find this location for the concept. They’ve been wonderful for that entire process [as] a landlord.”…
