Local leaders fight against gun violence at ’emergency’ meeting

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — City leaders, activists, and law enforcement joined together Friday for a community meeting to tackle crime in the city.

It’s the second installment in Kent County Commissioner Robert Womack’s state of emergency meetings. Friday’s “Stop the Violence” meeting was aimed at the younger generation.

‘Save our youth’: Local leaders fighting against gun violence

The meeting was held at Uptown Church from 6-8 p.m. Womack previously hosted the first State of Emergency meeting back in June.
