Gaines Township Shaken by Murder-Suicide Involving Couple with History of Domestic Disputes

Tragedy struck Gaines Township this week as deputies discovered two individuals dead in what has been determined as a murder-suicide. The deceased were identified as 52-year-old Troy Balcer and 43-year-old Elizabeth Weber, a couple with a reported history of domestic disputes. The Kent County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that they received a call concerning an argument at the couple’s residence on Madison Avenue SE, which quickly escalated to gunfire, according to FOX 17.

Responding to the distressing incident, deputies found the couple with grievous gunshot wounds, asserting the grim reality of domestic violence’s finality. Elizabeth Weber’s life ended with multiple gunshot wounds, while, as per the findings of the Kent County Medical Examiner’s Office, Balcer suffered a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound.
