Grand Rapids seeks feedback on possible trash service changes

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — As people walked into the gym of the Gerald R. Ford Academic Center on Madison Avenue SE on Tuesday night, a large red banner greeted them, saying “Let’s talk trash.” It’s a topic Grand Rapids leaders say is more important than one might think.

“It might seem like a mundane topic, but the thing is that it impacts our neighborhood and our community and our health and our environment,” said the city’s community engagement manager Andrea Riley-Mukavetz.
