Man who helped stop Walmart stabber: Like there was ‘a demon in him’

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (WOOD) — A Kent County man who helped stop the attacker who authorities say stabbed 11 people at Traverse City-area Walmart said looking in the man’s eyes, it was clear something was wrong.

“It was just like seeing someone that’s got a demon in him or something,” Matthew Kolakowski described the man, speaking to NBC News Monday. “Like a possession. ‘Cause it just didn’t look like a normal person at all. He just looked far out, far out from where his mind was.”

Stabbing suspect has history of digging up bodies

He said the attacker said something about being “a soldier” and that “everybody in Walmart were bad part and they pretty much needed to die.”
