6 Michigan JCPenney stores among 119 sold in whopping nearly $1 billion deal

Six Michigan JCPenney stores are among 119 which have been sold to Boston private equity firm, Onyx Partners, for just under $1 billion. $947 million to be exact.

Five years ago, the company filed for bankruptcy. The all-cash sale was revealed on July 25 by Copper Property CTL Pass Through Trust.

And today we know which 119 stores are involved, according to USA Today. In Michigan, they are:

  • Oakland Mall in Troy
  • Lakeside Mall in Sterling Heights
  • Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi
  • Grand Traverse Mall in Traverse City
  • Rivertown Crossings in Grandville
  • Waterside Marketplace in Chesterfield Twp.
