‘Never too late’: Murder victim’s family searches for answers years later

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A family still without answers or closure is crying for help, three years after their loved one was shot and killed in Grand Rapids.

Terrell Tejeda-Woodard, who went by TJ, was found shot to death in a yard around 4 a.m. on July 30, 2022. He was 18. Police said the shooting happened near College Avenue NE between Curtis and Brenner streets.

News 8 sat down exclusively with Tejeda-Woodard’s family Wednesday, as they continue to search for answers.

“This is a nightmare, it’s unfathomable to have to live everyday knowing my little brother did not get in a car accident, he didn’t have cancer, he didn’t get hurt on the job and pass away …someone literally stole a future from him,” Tejeda-Woodard’s sister Reyna Tejeda-Woodard said.  “You notice his absence; we are all together today and its obvious that he is not here.”…
