$12M conversion of historic riverfront factory to apartments nearly complete after setbacks

The years-long redevelopment of a historic factory along the Grand River into a 35-unit loft-style apartment project and new offices for Pinnacle Construction Group is set to be completed in November.

Pinnacle Construction is the developer, architect and general contractor for the $12 million Clipper Lofts project at 974 Front Ave. NW, which has been in the works since at least 2022. Pinnacle is relocating its offices from a building next door at 1000 Front Ave. NW to a 17,000-square-foot, first-floor space at the Clipper Lofts building.

“It’s an exceptional reuse of a historic building and conversion and really unique apartments,” said James Lewis, Pinnacle Construction development director. “We’re pretty proud of the project and work that went into it, and are happy to preserve an asset on the river in the city.”…
