Funding goal surpassed at West Michigan Congenital Heart Walk

WALKER, Mich. (WOOD) — There was a huge turnout at Millennium Park in Walker Sunday for the West Michigan Congenital Heart Walk.

Families, survivors and volunteers all gathered for a one-mile walk to honor those with congenital heart defects. The walk kicked off at 12:30 p.m. and honored those with these defects or those that have lost their lives.

Infant heart surgery survivor joins West Michigan walk

It was all hosted by the Children’s Heart Foundation, which says congenital heart defects affect 1 in 110 babies. The organization has surpassed its goal to raise $80,000.
