Corewell Health seeks to break ground this fall on 125-unit mixed-use project

Corewell Health aims to break ground in October on a mixed-use project with 125 apartment units for hospital residency and fellow programs at its Grand Rapids office park.

The six-story building would have 6,000 square feet of ground floor commercial space just north of I-196 in the Monroe North neighborhood. The project would be built on one of Corewell Health’s surface parking lots at 649 Ionia Ave. NW, and would result in the health system losing 138 of its approximately 1,000 parking spaces in the neighborhood.

Integrated Architecture is designing the project, and The Christman Co. will serve as the general contractor…
