GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Ten months ago, Rhys Kharmai-Freed was fighting to grow stronger. This weekend, he’ll be one of 500 people featured on a giant screen in Times Square during the National Down Syndrome Society’s Buddy Walk video presentation.
His moms, Nadira Kharmai and Laura Freed, say the moment will cap a year of fear, faith and firsts.
