SCHOOLCRAFT COUNTY, Mich. – The Michigan State Police (MSP) Manistique Post is asking for the public’s help in locating a 51-year-old man from Byron Center who has been missing for more than a week after a car crash in the Upper Peninsula.
Crash and Disappearance
On Saturday, Aug. 30, around 10:30 a.m., troopers responded to a crash on Lang Road near U.S. 2 in the Blaney Park area.
The driver, identified as Timothy Alan Lawrence, reportedly fled the scene on foot before officers arrived.
Description of Missing Man
Lawrence is described as:
- White male
- Approximately 6 feet tall
- Weighing about 220 pounds
- Blue eyes
Authorities said his clothing description at the time of disappearance is unknown.
Search Efforts So Far
The MSP Canine Unit and the MSP Aviation Drone Unit have been deployed in the search, but attempts to locate Lawrence have so far been unsuccessful.
