Van Eerden Foodservice Co. has acquired a Grand Rapids tortilla chip manufacturing plant in a nearly $3 million transaction that the distributor said will allow it to pursue further growth in the neighborhood.
According to property records, an affiliate of Van Eerden Foodservice purchased the 50,451-square-foot commercial building at 45 Martin Luther King Jr. St. SW for $2.95 million on Aug. 25.
The facility currently is occupied by El Matador Enterprise Inc., a tortilla chip manufacturer that’s been in the Grand Rapids area for 50 years…
