WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — The person shot and killed Wyoming police early Tuesday was a Holland man, deputies say.
The Kent County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday identified him as Luis Hernan Fernandez Sandoval, 31.
PD: Officers shoot, kill armed man in Wyoming
The shooting happened just after 1 a.m. Tuesday at a home on Lemyra Street SE near Jefferson Avenue in Wyoming. Police say they were called there on a report of Sandoval violating a protective order and, while officers were on their way, then got word that he might have fired a gun inside the house.
Officers said when they got there, they found Sandoval armed with a handgun. Two officers opened fire, shooting Sandoval. He died at the scene…
