The Art of Life NOW Gallery, located in the heart of Grand Rapids’ arts district, has transformed a former Mel Trotter overflow shelter into a 15,000-square-foot space filled with creativity and collaboration.

Curators Chelsea and Charles Holley say their goal was simple: to create a space for the community, by the community.
“We were talking about how cool it would be if we had a venue in the heart of the arts district,” Chelsea and Charles Holley said. “I said, if you give me 500 square feet I’ll fill 500 square feet. … If you give me 1,500 square feet, I’ll fill 1,500 square feet. … And we ended up with 15,000 square feet.”…
