GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – Gilda’s Club held its 11th annual West Side Walk on Saturday morning.
More than 400 people came together to walk the 1.5 mile path to celebrate and support the work Gilda’s club does for those navigating cancer or grief.
“It is incredible to feel the community is embrace,” said Wendy Wigger, the president and CEO of the Grand Rapids chapter. “I know that most of us have been touched by somebody that may be on a cancer journey or has been on a cancer journey, and all of us have been impacted by grief at some point in our life. West Side Walk is a time for honoring people who have gone before us, for recognizing people who are actively on a cancer journey… and just to raise much needed funds for Gilda’s club.”…
