New park name proposed after Grand Rapids residents opposed original choice

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Grand Rapids has lined up a new proposed name for a city park that’s opening later this year, after a previously suggested name was rejected by city leaders due to resident opposition.

“Unity Park” is the new name that city leaders are considering for the new $2.3 million city park that’s wrapping up construction at 680 Cesar E. Chavez Ave. SW, in Grand Rapids’ Roosevelt Park neighborhood.
