Great-nephew brings Korean War soldier’s remains home

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — After 75 years, the remains of a fallen soldier from Michigan were returned home on a flight piloted by his great-nephew.

Pfc. Harold Dulyea’s remains were identified on May 30. They were flown from Hawaii to Texas, before reaching Michigan Wednesday. His great-nephew, an American Airlines pilot named Casey Brouhard, completed the final leg of the trip to Grand Rapids.

Brouhard’s father Larry was Dulyea’s nephew. He was also on board — marking the first flight Casey piloted for his dad.

“We are carrying Harold Dulyea, private first class,” Casey Brouhard can be heard telling passengers in a video provided by American Airlines. “Seventy-five years ago, he was MIA and a POW in the Korean War. This last May, we were able to identify Pfc. Harold Dulyea.”…
