Bird flu found in backyard flock in Ottawa County

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Officials have found highly pathogenic avian influenza — bird flu — in another poultry flock in Ottawa County.

HPAI was found in a backyard flock Friday, state tracking data shows.

It’s the third case in Michigan since Sept. 22, when the bird flu was found in a backyard flock in Allegan County. HPAI was also detected in a commercial flock in Ottawa County Oct. 8.
