GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids city officials are honoring a late faith leader with a commemorative street sign.
Grand Rapids city officials installed a commemorative street sign honoring Dr. MaLinda Sapp at the corner of Madison Avenue SE and Alger Avenue Sunday afternoon.

The intersection is near Lighthouse Full Life Center Church, which she founded in 2003 with her husband, Grammy-nominated gospel artist Marvin Sapp. The church is also celebrating its 22nd anniversary on Sunday.
MaLinda Sapp was a Grand Rapids native who dedicated her life to helping others through education and faith. She worked as the church’s administrative pastor until her death in 2010 from cancer.
