How Michigan healthcare workers brought free prosthetics to Guatemalan people in need

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Instead of checking on their patients in Michigan, five healthcare workers were on a six-hour flight from Grand Rapids to Guatemala City in the early hours of a chilly October morning.

The trip, from Oct. 10-19, 2025, was planned to build prosthetic limbs for people in underserved communities.
