New trauma center is helping violent crime survivors heal free of charge

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Violent crime survivors can now receive free psychiatric and mental health services at Corewell Health’s new trauma recovery center.

The recovery center, located at Corewell’s community medicine clinic at 75 Sheldon Blvd. SE, will offer therapy, case management and psychiatric medication services to adults suffering from trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Subodh Jain, vice president and department chair for behavioral health at Corewell, said every survivor of violence “deserves a chance to heal.”…
