Winter storm warnings have been issued for West Michigan as an impactful Thanksgiving winter storm is set to impact the region.
Heavy winds, cold air and heavy lake effect snow are set to make for dangerous travel conditions along West Michigan up into the northern lower peninsula. Winter Storm Warnings stretch from the north-central area of the lower peninsula all the way down the western coastal counties along Lake Michigan.
“Snow develops Wednesday Morning and continues through Friday morning. Travel conditions will worsen Wednesday Afternoon/Evening with slick and snow-covered roads and near-whiteout visibilities at times,” the Grand Rapids NWS said. “High winds are also expected with 40-60 mph gusts, highest along the lakeshore.
