WEATHER READY ALERT DAYS this weekend for a significant snow storm

For the second straight year, the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend will feature a significant snow event. Ironically, last year on Saturday, November 29th, Grand Rapids had its snowiest day of the entire winter season; with 9.2″ of snow. A storm system is on the horizon for this weekend which will rival that event!

A WINTER STORM WARNING has been issued for ALL of West Michigan (above), and Fox17 meteorologists have issued WEATHER READY ALERT days for both weekend days, as this will be an extremely impactful snow event.

We’re forecasting a widespread 6-8″ of snow in West Michigan, with areas of 10″ + possible between I-96, I-94 and the Indiana state line. Unlike the Thanksgiving system, which had warm ground temperatures to work with initially and snow accumulation was slow, cold ground temperatures will allow for much quicker accumulation across the entire area…
