In an effort to combat the rising issue of abandoned newborns, a service known as “Safe Haven for Newborns” is available. This service allows any newborn, within 72 hours of birth, to be dropped off at a fire station, police station, or hospital. Alternatively, a call to 911 can be made for paramedics to pick up the baby. This service is completely anonymous, with no questions asked and no consequences for the mother.
