Coopersville mayor retires after nearly 40 years

COOPERSVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) — Ken Bush’s nearly four-decade run as mayor of Coopersville has come to an end, marking the first time since 1987 that his name won’t appear on the city’s roster of elected officials.

Bush served as both city councilman and mayor during his tenure, driven by what he calls a willingness to serve.

“You gotta have the willingness to serve,” Bush said. “And this community, to me, was always worth serving for.”
